IAU planned a surprise visit for us to a winery last week. We visited Chateau La Coste, a large winery by French standards not far from Aix. They’ve recently renovated their facilities, so we were one of the first tours since they’ve reopened. The buildings and equipment are all incredibly modern and impressive. One of the winemakers gave us a lovely tour of the production area, so we got to see the whole wine-making process up close. It was fascinating! After the tour, we all sampled a glass of their most popular wine, a rosé named Rose d’une Nuit, the night rose, because the grapes are picked at night to improve their flavor. Pretty fancy, right? Enjoy some of the pictures I snapped from the tour.
